The Host / La Huésped

Wanderer (or Wanda, as humans call her) is from an alien race called "Souls". She came to earth with her race to rule the world and the inhabitants. She took Melanie's body, but Melanie's mind refuses to give up and fights against Wanda. Wanda has constant dreams about Melanie's life and at some point, she thinks she needs to find Jamie (Melanie's little brother) and Jared (Melanie's boyfriend). When she finally meets them, Wanda feels very attracted by Jared, but he doesn't believe that Melanie is still in her body. When Wanda meets Ian, everything changes; Ian falls in love with her, and Wanda too, but the fact that Melanie's mind is still in her body and Jared wants her back, makes a lot of troubles. Another big problem is The Seeker, who tries to find Wanda, because she thinks she was kidnapped by humans.

The Host was written by Stephenie Meyer. She's well-known for her first saga: Twilight. She has been very criticized because of it, but when The Host was published, everyone loved it. It is something I don't understand at all, becuase, for example, I go to tumblr I see a lot of people that hate Twilight and criticize Stephenie Meyer all the time, but two seconds later they're talking about how awesome The Host is. I just don't get it. 

My favourite character is Ian. I JUST LOVE HIM. He's so sweet, and so cute. HE'S PERFECT. I really can't describe how much I love him.

This book has a movie, too, like the most of the books I've talk about, and it was realased on May, 2013. Personally, I haven't seen it yet, but it's on my "must see" list. Saoise Ronan as Wanda and/or Melanie Stryder (don't forget they both share the same body), Max Irons as Jared, Jake Abel as Ian, Chandler Canterbury as Jamie and Diane Kruger as The Seeker.

Stephenie Meyer has said that she's already writting the second part The Host, but nobody knows when she will realase it.

All I've got to say about this books is that I really liked it. The begginig is a bit confusing and strange, but as you keep reading, it becomes a kind of addiction. I totally recommend it.

Wanderer (o Wanda, como la llaman los humanos) pertenece a una raza de aliens llamadas "Almas". Ella vino a la Tierra con su raza para dominar el mundo y a sus habitantes. Se apropió del cuerpo de Melanie, pero su mente se resigna a darse por vencida y se lucha contra Wanda. Wanda tiene sueños constantes sobre la vida de Melanie, y en algún punto, cree que debe ir en busca de Jamie (el hermano pequeño de Melanie) y Jared (el novio de Melanie). Cuando por fin se reúne con ellos, Wanda se siente muy atraída por Jared, pero él no cree que Melanie siga siga estando en su cuerpo. Cuando Wanda conoce a Ian, todo cambia; Ian se enamora de ella y Wanda también de él, pero el hecho de que la mente de Melanie aún está en su cuerpo y Jared quiere recuperarla, todo termina siendo un problema. Otro gran problema es La Buscadora, que trata de encontrar a Wanda, porque cree que ha sido secuestrada por humanos.

La Huésped fue escrita por Stephenie Meyer. Se hizo conocida por su primera saga: Crepúsculo. Ha sido fuertemente criticada por ello, pero cuando La Huésped se publicó, todo el mundo lo amó. Eso es algo que no entiendo mucho, porque, por ejemplo, cuando estoy en tumblr veo mucha gente que odia Crepúsculo y critica a Stephenie Meyer todo el tiempo, pero dos segundos después todos están hablando de lo genial que La Huésped es. Simplemente no lo entiendo.

Mi personaje favorito es Ian. SIMPLEMENTE LO AMO. Es muy tierno y lindo... ES PERFECTO. En serio que no puedo describir cuánto lo amo.

Este libro tiene una película, también, como el resto de los libros de los que hablado, y fue estrenada en Mayo del 2013. Personalmente, no la he visto, pero está en mi lista de "must see". Saoirse Ronan interpreta a Wanda y/o Melanie Stryder (no olvidar que comparten el mismo cuerpo), Max Irons como Jared, Jake Abel como Ian, Chandler Canterbury como Jamie y Diane Kruger como La Buscadora.

Stephenie Meyer ha dicho que ya está escribiendo la segunda parte de La Huésped, pero nadie sabe cuándo será publicada.

Todo lo que tengo que decir sobre este libro es que en verdad me gustó. Al principio era un poco confuso y extraño, pero si sigues leyendo, se convierte en una adicción. Lo recomiendo totalmente.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians / Percy Jackson y los Dioses del Olimpo

Perseus "Percy" Jackson has been expelled from every school he has been because strange things always happen when he's around. When his algebra teacher turns into a Fury (a greek creature), his latin teacher (who is a centaur) and his best friend, Grover, (who is a satyr) tell him he's a demigod, which means his father is an Olympian. Percy goes to the Camp Half-Blood; in there he meets Annabeth, daughter of Athena, and Luke, son of Hermes, and a lot of other demigods like him. One day, a trident mark appears above Percy's head, his father Poseidon was claming him.

Since that day, Percy had to fight and kill million of mythologic creatures and monsters along with Annabeth, Grover and a lot of other people through the saga; and at the end, they've got to fight against Luke and Kronos, taking decisions that risk the Occidental Civilization.



I totallly ship Percabeth (Percy and Annabeth). I mean, they're such a cute couple! They have been through a lot of things and every five minutes they've been in mortal danger. Since the first book they have protected each other and... well, I really can't explain how much I love this couple. But as in every fandom, there are people that doesn't ship the main ship. For example, there are people that ship Perchel (Percy and Rachel). But I will ship Percabeth forever <3

I really really really recommend these books. It took me like a week to read the five of them. Now the only thing I want is to buy The Heroes of Olympus, that's kind of a second saga.

The first film Percy Jackson and the Lightining Thief was release in 2010 with Logan Lerman as Percy, Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth, Brandon T. Jackson as Grover and Jake Abel as Luke. This year, on August, the second film Sea of Monsters will be released.

Cuando su profesora de álgebra se convierte en una Furia (una criatura mitológica), su profesor de latín (que es un centauro) y su mejor amigo, Grover (que es un sátiro), le cuentan que él es un semidios, lo que significa que su padre es un Dios del Olimpo. Percy va al Campamento Mestizo; ahí conoce a Annabeth, hija de Atenea, y a Luke, hijo de Hermes, y a un montón de semidioses como él. Un día, una marca de un tridente aparece arriba de su cabeza, su padre, Poseidon, lo reclamó como su hijo.

Desde ese día, Percy había tenido que pelear y matar a millones de criaturas y monstruos mitológicos junto con Annabeth, Grover y más personas a lo largo de la saga; y al final, deben pelear contra Luke y Cronos, tomando decisiones que ponen en riesgo la Civilización Occidental.

Yo apoyo totalmente a Percabeth (Percy y Annabeth). Es que, ¡son tan lindos! Han pasado por tantas cosas juntos y cada cinco minutos estaban en peligro de muerte. Desde el primer libro que se protegen el uno al otro y... bueno, no puedo explicar cuánto amo esta pareja. Pero como en cada fandom, hay gente que no les gusta la pareja principal. Por ejemplo, hay gente que prefiere Perchel (Percy y Rachel). Pero yo apoyaré Percabeth para siempre <3

Yo enserio enserio enserio recomiendo esta saga. Me demoré sólo una semana en leerlos todos. Ahora lo único que quiero es leer Los Héroes del Olimpo, que es como la segunda saga.

Where the Trees Sing / Donde los Árboles Cantan

Where the Trees Sing is a fantastic novel written by Laura Gallego García (one of the best writers EVER). It narrates the life of Viana. Viana's life changes in every way when the barbarians invade the kingdom of Nortia, her father dies in battle and the barbarians force her to marry an awful man, but she's more intelligent than they think she is. She runs away from her husband and meets Lobo, an old hunter of the kingdom, and they both fight against the barbarians. In the way, Viana meets Uri, a guy that's kind of a "spirit" from the Great Forest, a place where the trees sing.

Personally, Uri is my favourite character. He's so innocent and cute. As he's kind of a spirit from the Great Forest, he doesn't speak any language and is like a kid in a lot of ways. Viana teaches him a lot of things and becomes the most important person in Uri's life.

Since she's very young she has written a lot of books like Idhún's Memories, Finis Mundi, Alas de Fuego, etc. The only problem with her books is that, as she writes in spanish, the most of her books aren't available in countries that don't speak spanish. Donde los Árboles Cantan es una novela fantástica escrita por la escritora española Laura Gallego García (una de las mejores escritoras de la historia). Este narra la vida de Viana. La vida de Viana cambia en todo sentido cuando los bárbaros invaden el reino de Nortia, su padre muere en una batalla y los bárbaros la obligan a casarse con un hombre horrible, pero ella es más inteligente de lo que ellos piensan. Se escapa de su esposo y se encuentra con Lobo, un viejo cazador del reino, con quien pelea contra los bárbaros. En el camino se encuentra con Uri, un chico que es algo así como un "espíritu" del Gran Bosque, un lugar en donde los árboles cantan.

Personalmente, mi personaje favorito es Uri. Es tan inocente y tierno. Como él es algo así como "un espíritu" del Gran Bosque, no habla ningún idioma y es como un niño en muchos sentidos. Viana le enseña todo lo que puede y termina convirtiéndose el persona más importante en la vida de Uri.

Laura Gallego García es una escritora española, nacida el 11 de Ocutbre de 1977. Desde que es muy joven ha escrito un montón  de libros como Las Memorias de Idhún, Finis Mundi, Alas de Fuego, etc. Como ella escribe en español, encontrar sus obras en ese idioma no es un problema. También tiene traducciones al catalán, francés e incluso japonés.
